About Our Company
We are a 50+ person post production facility specializing in Online Editorial, Tape and File-based Mastering and QC.
Position Overview
The Metadata and Transmissions Specialist constructs metadata files, compiles various digital media assets into a final package, and delivers files to various distributors as assigned. This includes downloading or retrieving customer provided metadata, editing XML, running scripts, and otherwise manipulating the metadata to meet the assigned specifications. This individual will additionally be responsible for performing a preliminary review of the incoming metadata to ensure completeness and correctness as well as a final quality check of digital packages prior to being delivered to the client.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform delivery of digital media files and packages using FTP, SFTP, Aspera, SmartJog, ITunes Transporter, Jellyroll and other file transfer methodologies.
• Utilize tools for the manipulation and ingestion of Metadata into proprietary platforms
• Assemble complete digital media delivery packages (e.g. .itmsp, .zip, .tar)
• Transports metadata from provider's format into required format (.xml, .xls, .csv) for delivery to customer
• Locate artwork/poster images from client approved websites
• Resizes and optimizes images using standard image editing programs (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Elements, )
• Input data into production tracking databases
• Follow data management procedures to ensure all team members can access accurate and timely information on element status, location and history.
• Perform other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
• Good communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
• Strong computer skills: knowledge of MAC OS
• At least intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word software
• Knowledge of XML format - how to view and read it
• Familiar with compressing utilities such as WinZip, GUI TAR
• Familiar with registering, browsing and navigating database driven websites
• Able to open and edit graphics in the JPG, PNG, PSD, EPS, TIF formats for source artwork supplied by studios
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
