Job Title: Manager/Senior Manager, Digital Strategy & Business Development
A little bit about our team:
WMG's Digital Strategy & Business Development team is responsible for leading the global deal negotiations with digital service providers on behalf of Warner Music Group. We strike deals with global distribution platforms and find new business opportunities in hopes of reaching audiences, growing monetization, and creating value for our labels and artists.
Your role:
In this role, you will support the ongoing efforts to strike global deals across the music streaming landscape by using your analytical skills, industry knowledge, and ability to negotiate complex partnerships. The ideal candidate is passionate about understanding the intersection of music, technological innovation, and consumer behavior.
Here you'll get to:
• Work with key digital partners (e.g., Apple, TikTok, Tidal, YouTube) to support the structure, negotiation, and execution of global agreements, representing the strategic view of WMG.
• Analyze partner data and create financial models to help inform key decision making.
• Find new ways to drive WMG revenues and create business opportunities on new and existing platforms.
• Partner with legal on drafting and execution of contract amendments, renewals, term sheets and long form agreements.
• Serve as a point of contact and communicate matters related to WMG's digital deals/partnerships to stakeholders including WMG's senior management, other internal divisions, and WMG's network of global affiliates.
• Monitor emerging technologies, and media & consumer tech ecosystem trends for the purpose of developing new strategic initiatives.
• Develop long-term strategies focused on WMG's relationship with DSPs and diversification of WMG's revenue and capabilities.
About you:
• 4+ years of relevant work experience
• Proven record working in an analytical capacity, with large data sets to create complex models around deal, partnership, and industry trend forecasting.
• Music, media, or entertainment industry content licensing experience is preferred, as is experience with deal-driven analyses.
• Driven, and inclined to take ownership of all facets of dealmaking, from inception to execution.
• Ability to distill commercial and legal constructs into actionable data points.
• Understanding of basic financial principles (e.g., revenue forecasting and recognition, cashflows, artist royalty obligations
Salary/Benefits
$125,000.00 - 145,000.00 per year
