At a crucial time for the business following the merger between WarnerMedia and Discovery Inc, the EMEA Corporate Communications function helps shape and develop a strong external profile for Warner Bros. Discovery, promoting the company's EMEA narrative, policies and initiatives across the region.
Reporting to the VP Communications, EMEA, Warner Bros. Discovery, the Corporate Communications Manager for EMEA will support the delivery of the external communications strategies, campaigns and events that build Warner Bros. Discovery's profile and presence.
The Corporate Communications Manager, EMEA, will deliver corporate communications programmes across all core business units including ad-sales, partners and affiliates, distribution, content (spanning streaming, linear networks, gaming, social), home entertainment and licensing. They will play a key role on the EMEA corporate press office, with a focus on proactive engagement to help Warner Bros. Discovery's elevate its European story with key external stakeholders and partners.
This is an integral position in a small team that works closely with colleagues across WBD's international communications network including government relations, WBD EMEA Sports comms and the internal comms team where required. The Corporate Communications manager will ensure coordination and support teams across Iberia, Italy, France, Germany, Benelux, Nordics, Central Eastern Europe, Turkey and the Middle East.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Communications Tools: Drafting of communications tools including press releases, statements, briefing documents, reports, research summaries and comms trackers. Develop communications plans that support elevation of key existing and future partnerships, investments and acquisitions.
• Relationship Management. Broaden and maintain key media contacts across International business, media and trade press. Identify opportunities for engagement with EMEA leadership. Support relations with key industry stakeholders, affiliates, CSR, DEI and government partners.
• Crisis Communications: Drafting of crisis comms plans and statements to help inform key stakeholders and executives. Coordinate and support other business functions on press issues that have a reputational risk for the WBD across EMEA.
• Coordination: Working with in-country market teams to ensure regular flow of news and information about activity to executives and other colleagues. Support these teams in maintaining consistency in corporate messaging and branding.
• Internal Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with key internal stakeholders and business units to ensure visibility of key activity or issues and help inform communications tools and positioning, including but not limited to Business and Legal Affairs, Finance, Commissioning, Marketing, Ad-Sales and Distribution.
Qualifications and Experience…
• Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of skills, training and hands-on experience
• Demonstrable communications experience, preferably with agency experience. Experience in media, entertainment/or technology industries ideal
• Ability to work with and build trust with multiple stakeholders
• Good media relations skills and established international / UK press contacts
• A team player, willing to take on additional responsibilities as necessary
• Experience of communications activities across multiple business disciplines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• An ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and to handle multiple projects
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
• Ability to cultivate and sustain strong relationships with co-workers
